Today is a normal family day....running the kids to the Ortho....Josh is taking the state standardized tests this week at school. Had Jeriah's School Open house last night. Tom is still in the throws of finals for school. He's got to study all during the day and go to class at night. He's pretty stressed and stretched with his work load. But, the end is near. He graduates June 14th. I believe he has a few things to write after that a thesis or such...but, this heavy work load will be behind him. Until.....he starts on his Doctorate....lol Getting my little shop ready for Mother's day...will post photos soon. Have a lifesize lady in there...mom painted her face and I dressed her...she's a pretty lady....:-) I even apologized to her when I bumped into her. haha Have a great Weds!

Josh got his braces off today...Yeah!

Sharayah's Artsy Hobbies

Sharayah has been involved in Art all the way through school. She has an artistic flare that is manifest in various ways...she has classic taste...that I respect and find myself reversing roles at this stage in life and asking her opinion on things of beauty....she has inherited my mom's artistic eye and abilities....she's got good taste in her music, dress, and things of beauty that appeal to her. She is what I would consider an expert on Big Band/40's music. She knows the words and singers of the era and has always listened to music that I considered a part of the older generations. :-) Someone told me, she's an old soul in a young body. :-) lol I'm proud of my girl... Sharayah!

Playing Catch Up....

Since this is a new blog....I've decided to post some of the most recent Family Occasions...We celebrated our 22nd Wedding Anniversary April 12th. We have had many great Anniversary trips over the years....I wish I could remember them all....Been to Hawaii, NYC, England, France....many wonderful memories. This year we went close to home....the Lovely Laguna Beach. What a wonderful place to be...right here in our own backyard so to speak. Only about 20 minutes away, but I love that place! We had a lovely 2 bed, 2 bath condo overlooking the beach. I was tempted to call the kids and invite them down...but, I realized that wasn't an Anniversary trip. haha It was just so beautiful...I wanted to share it with the children. We rested and ate at our favorite restaurants....I think I liked it better than flying and fighting our way to our destination...traveling overseas is becoming increasingly stressful these days. lol

The picture you see was taken from my cellphone....looking out over our balcony....we are blessed to live in such a beautiful area!

I've Just Started Blogging!

Greetings everyone, I'm always curiously exploring the world. And, decided today I would attempt to start a blog. I've been on several of the social networks to keep up with my children and sisters and friends....now, I'm adding yet another cyber social connection to my busy world. :-) Today is Sunday (The Lord's Day)! (ps it always cracks me up when the preachers wife calls her husband~Brother or Pastor...here goes....) Pastor Copple preached an awesome message today~"Taking up our cross and following Jesus" ...He had a large wooden cross to carry as an example of things in our lives that we carry...ie sicknesses, family situations, untimely deaths, divorce, financial loss, hurts, disappointments..etc... things that we have been thru and feel wounded by or ashamed of. But, if we take it up and follow Christ, not walk away from him....we grow when we allow those things to bring us closer to God and learn our lesson from those tests..... and to draw closer and continue to follow him with our cross teaching us humility and grace and mercy and compassion for others. God will use our experiences to reach others. Not for our cross to block us from God or those around us or for our sorrows to become our permanent identity or become "STUCK" in that season of life. Well, you just should have been there...it was good. We had a lovely Mexican Dinner served by our Youth Group....also a fund raiser by our Youth Group. Next week is our Groundzero Services....in Pentecostal lingo...a Holy Ghost Revival with Bro. McKemy. Well, This is the first day of my blogging....I will return soon.
