Excited about the upcoming Holidays
Thanksgiving is almost here. I'm getting in the mood to bake and decorate for two of my favorite holidays. Excitied also that my son is coming home for Thanksgiving. Next Semester my two oldest children will be studying away. Sharayah in Paris, France and Josh in Indiana. So, this Holiday season is very special for me. I'm wondering when that Holiday will come and one of my children will not be around my table. I can't believe they have grown up. I know if they have a significant other some day I will have to share them. But, right now...they still circulate around me-"Momma"! :-) I'm making all of my mothers traditions and it's just not a Holiday without our family flavors. One of those unique things is my mom's Oyster Dressing. We LOVE that. It's not a Holiday without it. I'm the main cook now. And, I do love it. But, I miss all my family at this time of year...my four older sisters who are great cooks and used to run the kitchen and run me out of it so to speak with their superior skills. It's always nice when I'm with them and can sit back and be the baby sister. My Aunts are also great cooks and made our Holidays growing up so special. Memories are being made today. We will look back and smile.
