Beethoven's Life~Performance by one man Hershey Felder!
I LOVED this performance by Hershey Felder. What a great actor and awesome pianist. I was so moved by his performance of the life & music of Beethoven. I have a better understanding and new appreciation for Beethoven's music. What a great night. Just one man...a piano...and stage. It was better than a broadway production with hundreds of people & costumes and bright lights!!!! If you get a chance to see Hershy Felder...do yourself a favor and go. :-)

"My Highest Purpose" is to be my kids mom!!!!
As mother's day approaches.....I'm so thankful and blessed that I've had 4 beautiful children. They mean the world to me. It is my highest purpose. I want to give them the best of my time, love and talent--and not the leftovers. Many voices call for me--but I always want to hear their voices above the rest. Many ...people want me to take on their vision & agenda....but I never want to abandon my first agenda...which is to be the very best Mom to my children that I can be. :-) I have a happy Mother's Day-every day-I have the greatest treasures in my home!!
Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's!!! My daughter spoke on Mother's Day. She did a great job!!
Mother’s Day

Pablo Picasso is one of the world’s greatest and most well known artist. He took on the name “Picasso” from 1900 on-which was actually his mother’s maiden name. Pablo’s mother believed that her son could be whatever he wanted to be. Not only that, but she believed he’d be the best. I quote, “My mother said to me, If you are a soldier, you will become a general. If you are a monk, you will become the Pope." Instead, I was a painter, and became Picasso.” Not just a painter, but Pablo Picasso went on to become the creator of “cubism” a new form of art, the world had never seen. And it all began with a little boy, who had a mother that believed in him.
Abraham Lincoln, was the 16th president of the United States of America and one of the most beloved, and highest ranked by scholars. His mother died when he was nine years old. His father re-married, to a Sarah Bush who Lincoln became very close to. She encouraged his appetite for reading and learning, and treated him like her own. Every year or two Abraham would come home to visit her. He said, “I regard no man as poor who has a godly mother” and went on to say, “I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.” Abraham Lincoln, changed the face of America in his years of presidency.
He faced many hardships, many failures, and even faced the great Civil War. But he stood strong in the face of adversity, and remained brave through the darkest times of his life. He abolished slavery and brought a new meaning to equality and freedom in America. But it all began with a Godly mother who prayed for him, and passed down strong convictions. No doubt those prayers carried him through. Abraham Lincoln said, “All I am, or can be, I owe to my angel mother.” God hand picked a young Jewish girl named Mary, to give birth to the one who would be the Savior and Sacrifice of this world. Jesus met many, touched many, and changed the live’s of many. But at the end of his life on earth, multitudes turned against him, soldiers jeered and spat upon him, and he hung bloodied and beaten. But His mother, was found at the foot of that cross. The bible was careful to note that she was there until the end of his mortal life. There is no devotion, like a mothers. What an amazing creation God made when he created a Mother.

Any female can reproduce. But it takes someone truly special to have the heart of a mom. I am one, who is so blessed to say, that the woman who raised me-is the definition of what a mother is suppose to be. My mom has not missed out on one year of my twenty years of existence. From my 1st birthday, to my 13th, to my 18th, she’s made sure every year was filled with the best of memories. She not only made every moment special for me, but she managed to keep the parties comin’ for Joshua and Jeriah. Nothing is out of reach for us. We are never in need of anything. She would indulge my little dreams as a girl. From saying yes, to one day changing my name to Pocahontas, to me wanting to sing like Whitney Houston. She made me feel like a million bucks….I was going into Kindergarten, and my mom took me out to a tea house, and got me a little present-to commemorate a new passage in my life. (Mom always made every new experience special by creating a celebration) : ) You could wind up the little music box she gave me. It played “Sunrise, Sunset.” She held my little hands and got teary-eyed. Both of us started crying. Although it only played music, the words to the song goes, “Sunrise, sunset-Sunrise, sunset, swiftly flow the days…seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers, blossoming even as we gaze. Sunrise, sunset, Sunrise, sunset, swiftly fly the years, One season following another, laden with happiness and tears.”
Throughout my elementary and middle school years my mom would be the project supervisor. I’d bring home an assignment, and we’d get to workin’ and at the end, HER project for my 5th grade class looked pretty amazing. (haha) I remember being excited about opening my lunch pail, because mom would write a little note of sweet words to me. Even when I made the silver honor role, she was sure to be there on the front row, taking pictures like the paparazzi. When my parents would go on a trip, my mom would leave little presents for everyday of the week they were gone. Even on Valentines day, my mom would get me flowers and we‘d have a party. Lets just say, the love she had for us knew no limits. Even now we laugh about all the things mom made sure we had. The Copple kids were never deprived. You want to play the cello, even if it’s bigger than you? Sure you can. All three of you want a different drive thru? Sure, no problem. With mom, your every dream came true. But don’t be fooled, if she heard someone at school was picking on you, she’d be parked right out there by the gate in her SUV, ready to take em’ on.

I could look back on any year in my life, and pick out a fond memory of my mother and me. I could most definitely write a book. We live in a world that likes to belittle the job of the family unit, and the mother’s position. They like to put value on, staying a “hot mom” or having a “big career” or traveling places, having many degrees. And many women choose to do that. They become well known to many people, and they return to their house a stranger to their own kids. I am happy to say I have a mother I know inside and out. And boy does she know me. She knows how I think, what each facial expression means, what I don’t like and what I do. She’s been through my happiest and saddest moments with me and I’ve been with her through hers. She started out as my teacher, showed me how to be a lady, how to speak like one, dress like one, cook like one (which today is as rare as snow in Orange County.) She taught me how to be a worshiper, how to not be ashamed, how to reach out to others. Ezekiel 16:4 says, “As is the mother, so is her daughter.” I am what I am because of her feminine touch.
She also became my advisor, my guidance. And the older I get, she became the best of friends. There is no devotion like a mothers. They are there from birth-till the end. There is no limit to a mothers love. There’s nothing like a mothers touch. To sum up everything, I believe Washington Irving said it best, “A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
We celebrate all of You Mother’s today. Never let the public opinion sway you on your purpose, or devalue the true meaning of a mothers influence. You help to create the best artist, lawyers, doctors, teachers, presidents and Christians……“For the hand that rocks the cradle - Is the hand that rules the world.” So Happy Mothers day to all you out there, and Happy mother’s day to the best mom, the Lord created. Sara Copple You’ve made all the difference in the four lives of your children. I Love and honor you today.

Aunt Theodora
My Aunt Theodora was special to me. She was my mom's oldest sister. They came from a family of eight. 4 boys and 4 girls. She was always very close to my mom-so we spent a lot of time together. She is now 93 years old and living in a nursing home. She doesn't remember me anymore. I remember her and all she stood for. She had class and dignity. She loved pretty things. She kept her home lovely and changed things around to keep it fresh. She loved to cook delicious food for her family & guests. She loved her chocolate cake with fudge icing. She dressed up and wore gloves daily. As you see her in the picture below in her later years is how she lived her life day to day. She wasn't above raking her leaves in a nice outfit and gloves. She always wanted to look her best. She was a beautiful girl-from a beautiful Greek family and she never lost her style and classic fashionable taste. She was an example in prayer and her Christian lifestyle. When I needed prayer--she's the one I would call. She lived about 30 minutes away in my growing up years and I so enjoyed the Monday nights we would go to her and Uncle Victors house for family time. There was always laughter. A bird that could talk. (uncle victors bird). Good stories told. Good food prepared. Hot coffee in china cups. Smiling faces of family happy to see each other. Home movies were pulled out. Her grandchildren would be there and I had fun playing with them while the adults talked. I was blessed to be mentored by beautiful-loving Aunts, Sisters and a devoted Mom....No Wonder I love being a Mom...they were my heros. I was mothered by the best. Do something special for those mother figures in your life this week!!!!
