Bon Voyage....

I took my husband to the airport at about 5am this morning. He's flying back to Indianapolis to spend the day with Sharayah. IBC is having a Pastor's Banquet Tuesday Evening. So, he will be able to go to class with Sharayah on Tuesday and spend some "quality" time with her. It's 7:30am and I've already had my hour walk, cooked breakfast and I'm getting ready to take the boys to school.

Took Sharayah to the beach today.....

Sharayah has been home for the week. Today her dad and I took her to Newport Beach for lunch and to walk around while the boys were at school. We live in such a beautiful place. Refreshing each time we are at the pier at N.B.....sunshine, breeze blowing...lovely!~~~~~~~~~~~

In Memory of Alice & Grace....

Yesterday we received news one of Tom's family members had passed....Grace Urshan Larson...she was 90 yrs. old. The sister of our former General Superientendent Rev. N.A. Urshan. A couple of weeks ago another family member was buried...Aunt Alice Urshan...wife of Rev. Benjamin Urshan. Two precious ladies that have been faithful to God and their families. I have some beautiful family pictures of them when they were young. I still remember them in the vibrancy of life and they have large families that will keep their memories close to heart.

My baby is turning 10....

My youngest is turning 10 tomorrow~I can't believe it. He's such a bright boy. Lots of energy!!!!! He's been a great blessing to my life. He's brought me joy and taught me to live again. He is so full of questions and excitement. He keeps us young. lol He's in a special gifted school with xtra work & it's easy for him-we give him extra things to do at home and music and sports. (I get the feeling that I'm raising my dad sometimes-God help me.lol)
He's definitely his own little man and has been so since the day he was born. I had to change door knobs and lock things as he was so adventureous as to be out at 2 taking a walk while we were still sleeping. Or climbing the roof or doing a "science experiment" or any number of things that I was not prepared for. HA Thank God for blessing me with Jeriah. Since his birthday is in the middle of the school week. We are waiting til' Friday Night for his party. He wanted a Star Wars Party. He loves building Star Wars Lego cities. So, I'm working on a fun night for him. :-)

**We had a great day. It was a wonderful reunion. The whole family picked her up from the airport and went to breakfast at Mimi's. Went home to check in with our dog~ Princess Duffy. Then she and I went to the spa.  Love my girl.

Great Nephew Clark...What a doll!

Clark just took some new fall pictures and they're all adorable. He reminds me of my Nathan. This is my sister Rebecca's first Grand. Farrah's baby. He's a happy boy who loves to laugh!!!

Reality Week

Last night I talked to Sharayah on Skype. She is attending IBC and having a good time. She was all fired up from being out in the streets on outreach this week for Reality Week...praying for the community and knocking doors. She met some adorable kids that touched her heart. They went to a nursing home and sang to the residence there and walked around talking and making friends with the residence. She said she told them how her grandmother(my mother) grew up in Indianapolis and went to school there... and she-(Rayah) has been raised in California and how she loves being there around family and seeing the sights that she only saw in pictures of my family growing up...they thought that was neat. She loved ministering to the nursing home residence. All of these are good experiences that I've had and many of you growing up in church and it's nice to hear the next generation having a burden to touch people where they live. She especially loves children. Her heart was touched by the children they met and the students took pizza and snacks to the children who were coming home from school and played ball with them...inviting them to Sunday School. The kids were excited to have their attention and loved the snacks. She said many of the little girls were intriqued with her long hair. They were touching it. lol (We're used to that!) Her heart has always been in our childrens ministry here at STWC. That is my passion also. But, Sharayah has a deep passion of her own for Children's Ministry. She connects so well and notices children and their special ways. Tonight the IBC Choir will be singing downtown at the circle in Indianapolis. (I "borrow" pictures from her myspace!)lol

Happy Birthday to my nephew...He's 42!

Hurricane rumblings--Letter from my sister in Lousiana

****I talked to my sister this morning. They are still without power. But, her spirits are up. Thankfully we all have a strange sense of humor. She's still laughing at the sight of having horses and 8 german shephards camping out in her front yard. I'm glad she can laugh about it. She's been taking the ladies and kids in town to shop or go to Chuck e Cheese to keep from getting cabin fever. I hope everyone in Texas gets relief soon!

Dear Family:

We're bracing for another hurricane. On the humorous side we now have 8 horses & 11 dogs in our yard with 11 people supposed to stay in our house. Our son and daughter-in-law(from Texas) have 5 horses and 8 dogs...German Shepards. They brought their friends which is a family of four.. They have 3 horses and 2 dogs. Our dog Tippy is under our house and won't come out. I made a huge pot of Hamburger Soup and it was devoured and I kept adding canned vegetables to the pot to make it stretch.

Real life happenings is truly stranger than some things you make up. I don't know why but when I look out in my yard and see 8 horses and 11 dogs in our little yard it makes me keep laughing.

Besides all of this drama.. Curtis is coming along real good and we doing well.

Sharayah is doing good at IBC~Indianapolis

I have many at STWC asking how Sharayah is doing...she's doing well. Learning a lot. Especially budgeting her money. I'm not there to give her all of my ready cash and take her to her favorite restaurants. She finds a way~none the less. She's down to sharing meals with friends. :-) Anything to eat at Cheesecake Factory or P.F. Changs. I'm trying to break her down to Taco Bell or McDonalds. lol She's pretty tough to break down. I sent her one big box already and I'm fixing another one. Her dad just doesn't understand the hold the kids have on me, when they say they want or need something. lol Momma loves her babies....:-)

Saturday Concert

Thanks to Auntie Rita....Sharayah and I are going to a Michael Buble concert on Saturday. Sharayah loves his music. She loves all the big band era, 40s, Frank Sinatra type music....whatever that falls under...Thank God she doesn't like the wacked out crazy music that some teens like. haha Actually she's a bit too sophisticated for me...I can only handle so much smooth music and hot tea and then I have to have some excitement. haha She's an elegant girl for sure. This is her 18th birthday gift from her Aunt Rita and it's a dream come true for her. She's been wanting to go for a while. She likes Josh Groban also, we were able to take her to that for her 17th birthday. We're going to dinner and then to the Honda Center which used to be the Anaheim Arrowhead Pond I believe...what a fun night. Thank you...Rita

Happy Birthday to My Husband~Tom

This Saturday May 10th is my husbands 49th birthday. He sure looks good. It's possibly that strong Persian blood... His special food request is for me to make a Persian Meal...Dolma, Taboule, Humus, Kibbie... That's a real birthday celebration in his eyes. :-) And, I think we're going shopping to the garment district for new threads...that always makes a guy feel good...especially one who never shops. I shop quite often...surprise, surprise...haha

Today I sent off some of Sharayah's Graduation announcements....she will be graduating Weds/June 11th. I can't believe this day is here. Time has surely flown by. Today we also received the wedding announcement for our niece Kacie Copple...to Ryan Mackintosh...that is Tim & Kim Copples girl. So we will be driving back to Illinois for her wedding the week after Sharayah graduates. Sharayah is one of the bridesmaids. All of our Copple kids are growing up. It's a beautiful day here in California.

Playing Catch Up....

Since this is a new blog....I've decided to post some of the most recent Family Occasions...We celebrated our 22nd Wedding Anniversary April 12th. We have had many great Anniversary trips over the years....I wish I could remember them all....Been to Hawaii, NYC, England, France....many wonderful memories. This year we went close to home....the Lovely Laguna Beach. What a wonderful place to be...right here in our own backyard so to speak. Only about 20 minutes away, but I love that place! We had a lovely 2 bed, 2 bath condo overlooking the beach. I was tempted to call the kids and invite them down...but, I realized that wasn't an Anniversary trip. haha It was just so beautiful...I wanted to share it with the children. We rested and ate at our favorite restaurants....I think I liked it better than flying and fighting our way to our destination...traveling overseas is becoming increasingly stressful these days. lol
